About Me

My photo
Fortenberry
In my work Abstract Expressionist paint handling incorporates found imagery. I am interested in painting as an abstract and literal object. At times the images take a secondary position to the brushwork, and at other times a more prominent one. This process of combining paint and collage can be very rich, providing expression for a variety of states of mind. Titles are taken from text that happens to appear in the collage. ...... My works are in corporate and private collections in the U.S. and Europe. ... MFA degree from Brooklyn College and BFA degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. I have studied closely with the artists Lee Bontecou, Phillip Pearlstein, and Allan Achangelo.... Collections - Johnson & Johnson, IBM, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Egon Zehnder International
